The Caerphilly Adventure Group (CAG) provides outdoor activity opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. The Group is made up of a team of volunteers that work separately, but in partnership with Caerphilly Adventures - the Outdoor Education provision of Caerphilly County Borough Council (CCBC). Our members come from the local area and further afield including Newport and Cardiff.
Licensing
All official Caerphilly Adventure Group (CAG) activities are covered by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA) via Caerphilly Adventures. Such events are also covered by CCBC’s public liability insurance. This allows CAG to provide adventurous activities to children and young people under the age of 18 within the scope of the licence. These activities include:
water sports
trekking
indoor climbing
To welcome everyone to enjoy the outdoors, and to invest in volunteers by securing funding to develop their skills and qualifications so in return they can organise and lead activities for Caerphilly Adventure Group and others.
Adult Activities
We arrange a range of activities for adults of all abilities. These include:
kayaking, canoeing and stand up paddle boarding
mountaineering and hill walking
camping and expeditions
bushcraft
gorge walking and adventure walking
cycling
We hold events in the local Caerphilly and South Wales area as well as further afield including Bannau Brycheiniog, North Wales, and the Lake District. Many of our volunteer leaders hold National Governing Body Awards such as Mountain Leader Award, Climbing Wall Award, Mountain Bike Leader, Paddlesport Instructor and Outdoor First Aid training.
