CAG is run by a friendly committee with a broad range of experience and skills. Here we introduce you to a couple of the key members you are likely to interact with and see on trips.
David grew up in the relative flatlands of Wolverhampton but was fortunate to have family in North Wales and attend a comprehensive school that believed in the power of outdoor education. As a result he developed a love of the outdoors at an early age and a firm belief of trying to makeĀ
He is a keen sea kayaker and as well as paddling in his faviurite areas of Pembrokeshire and Anglesey he has also been on exped to the NW of Scotland, Croatia and Lofoten. David is also a keen walker, having trekked in Nepal, Canada and Kyrgystan. His favourite area to walk is the Rhinogydd in Southern Snowdonia.
David heads up our Paddle Club and looks after the club finances. He also leads for Outdoor Lads. When not busy in the outdoors David specialises in IT and data systems and often finds himself sorting out the CAG admin systems. David became chair of Caerphilly Adventure Group (CAG) in 2026 and looks forward to making sure we continue to put on a range of activities for members and develop volunteers to keep the group strong.
